A simple chorus of three words, “Pass it on,” this piece is accessible to choirs of all levels. Despite its simplicity, the message given through the verses is a profound reminder that people who suffer tribulation must tell their stories. It is in such legacies that resilience of humanity propels future generations forward. Originally composed in a longer version for a church musical about the historic struggles of African-Americans, it was later shortened to be easily performed in unison, parts or even as a solo.  For SATB, basses should double the alto, i.e. the melody an octave lower.
